members and sponsors Employment Opportunities BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA DIRECTOR DIVISION OF TRAFFIC ENGINEERING Salary range - $86,621 - $142,056 (dependent on qualifications) The Organization Broward County is located at the center of the Southeast Florida “Gold Coast” between Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties. Broward County has a population of 1.8 million citizens within 1,200 square miles. The County includes 30 municipalities that lend to a broad spectrum of high quality living environments as well as providing outstanding quality schools, libraries, and cultural with expansive parks and recreational amenities. The Traffic Engineering Division provides traffic engineering services to 28 of the 30 cities through Traffic Engineering Agreements and to unincorporated areas in the County. The Division also provides services on all state roadways via intersection maintenance agreements with the Florida Department of Transportation. The Division operates and maintains a variety of signals and markings 24 hours a day, seven days a week on 990 miles of roadway including approximately: 1,450 traffic signalized intersections; 900 school flasher signals; 1,500 streetlights; 2,400 internally illuminated street name signs; 150,000 pole-mounted signs; and 3,000 lane miles of pavement markings. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience as a senior manager or director of traffic operations within large urban traffic ways with operating budgets in excess of $5M. This candidate has recent experience in systems timing modeling and emerging technologies and is knowledgeable of pertinent codes and statutes as they relate to traffic engineering and design. The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and interact well with a diverse staff, the public, senior administration officials, and elected officials. Minimum Qualification Requirements This position requires graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in civil or traffic engineering and six (6) years experience in traffic or transportation engineering including four (4) years of high level supervisory, management and administrative experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Manager -- ITS
Growing
engineering consulting firm is looking for a Traffic Engineering Group
Manager with a specialization in ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems).
The individual will oversee and manage the company’s already existing
traffic group in addition to helping to grow the traffic group through
marketing to current and existing clients. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); PTOE preferred but not required. Prior experience working on Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project; current FDOT contacts/relationships preferred. Individual that possess both technical capabilities within ITS and ability market/business development to FDOT throughout the state.
